| Consumption of ozone-depleting substances | The Government of Belize ratified the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone layer and is in compliance for the Phase-out of HCFCs and Ozone Depleting Substances (ODSs). Therefore, Belize has begun a project entitled “HCFC Phase-Out Management Plan (HPMP) for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Servicing Sector. The objective of the Project is to Phase-Out HCFCs by 2030. The importation of refrigerant gases is permitted through the Online Application and Licensing System (OPAL).
