- The percentage change in cruise expenditure tells the extent of the increase or decrease in cruise tourism expenditure. Cruise passengers generally enter the country for a few hours for the main purpose of sight-seeing before they board the ship and move to another destination. A cruise passenger does not stay in the country overnight. A positive change means that cruise passengers are spending money more than the previous period.
